Storm in Calpe

Those of you that think that the Sun always shines in the med ….well here is evidence that it doesn´t! although what ever the weather its a beautifull landscape. The wind in Calpe  was blowing at about 40 mph when this photograph was taken but the air temperature was in excess of 24 degrees, not to bad for November 08.

Calpe enjoys about 320 days of sunshine each year so to be honest a change to English weather is not unpleasant especialy when its blown in via Africa.

new James Bond Film - Quantum of Solace

- keep a watch out for the dramatic boat chase scenes - earlier this year Avon  were very fortunate to sell a number of standard and unaltered Adventure 6.20 craft that were then used in these scenes.  Even though the Production Company painted the boats all black they have ( as agreed  with them ) left the Avon logos exposed and on full view.

It was a privilege for Avon to be given the opportunity to  supply these craft and when you see the boats remember that they were ” Standard off the Production Line craft ” and were not reinforced in any way prior to being used in the film.  A testament to the design and construction of these ” 4 x 4’s of the water “

The new Cap Camarat 555

A truly stylish new model!

The new Cap Camarat 555 will premier at the Barcelona Boat Show, beginning on the 8th of November,

before appearing at the Paris Boat Show.

Designed by the Garroni Designers and the Jeanneau Design team, the Cap Camarat 555 is a 5.5-

metre open model created to offer features normally found on larger models (6 to 6.5 metres).

PRESS RELEASE

Key innovations aboard the Cap Camarat 555 include the following.

A design that is…

Attractive. The overall silhouette and design of the

central console are very similar to those of the Cap

Camarat 635.

Contemporary. The deck lines are sinuous and

elongated; the wraparound windshield features deep

curves on the two sides; the luxurious upholstered

seating is generously sized; and the new instrument

panel is both functional and elegant.

A deck plan that is…

Secure. 700 mm of depth in the cockpit, long built-in stainless steel handrails, stainless-steel wraparound

side rails, and a large anchor locker.

Spacious. Pivoting rear bench seating frees up space, along with removable rear corner seats, wide,

asymmetrical sidedecks (widest at portside), and generous storage spaces.

Comfortable. A U-shaped forward saloon with bench seating forward of the console can be transformed

into a large sundeck, while the wide centre console can be accessed by a sliding door.

Handling at sea that is…

High-performance. The tapered V-shaped hull (16° / 36°) offers an exceptional performance (over knots

with 120 HP) and very good handling in tight manoeuvres (well defined hull chines).

Comfortable. The tulip-shaped hull results in a perfect deflection in the chop and assures excellent

stability while at anchor.

Regal Recognizes Global Distributors

To celebrate the most successful year in international sales in its 39-year history, Orlando-based Regal Marine joined dealers from over 30 countries on the shores of the Mediterranean in San Raphael, Southern France. The international venue – a first for Regal – was chosen to recognize Regal’s growing global distribution network for its record-breaking sales efforts, and to renew relationships built by the late company founder, Paul

Rob Woodward and his wife Kerry participated in a series of events over a two-day period, including product testing, future product discussions, enhanced global customer service initiatives, as well as attending an awards banquet, held at a 12th century French vineyard. Regal received a surge of international orders as a result of its efforts.

In addition to dealer principals, over 20 journalists from around the world attended the event in San Raphael, testing and capturing images of Regal’s 2009 model line-up – including the all-new 2100 and racy RS product line.

Jeanneau introduce new pricing structure

In order to provide value for new boat purchasers, Jeanneau have introduced three levels of specification packages, these being Preference, Premier and Excellence. These packages combine a number of the most popular options at a reduced cost to the customer. The strategy behind this move is to streamline the factory production process and pass on the savings to the customer. By offering these packages they can plan further ahead and ‘lock’ boats into the production chain earlier. These boats or ’slots’ can then be purchased by a customer with the traditional waiting times dramatically reduced. Complete bespoke builds will still be offered, but the majority of customers are expected to take advantage of these packages.
