The Concept

The concept involves like-minded individuals getting together and sharing the pleasure and costs associated with the purchase of motor and sailing yachts. The idea is very simple. Each individual buys ‘shares’ proportionate to their ownership, they then share in the purchase and running costs of the vessel. We manage this to ensure that your investment is not only safe and secure but available and enjoyable when you want it, ensuring that you optimise your leisure time.

You may ask, why not buy the boat outright?

There are numerous answers to this: For some people considering yacht or powerboat ownership, the full purchase price of a new vessel, combined with the cost of insurance, marina fees and time spent on up-keep mean that sole ownership is not a viable option. Alternatively, those who do own boats continually look to buy a bigger and better boat. Shared ownership reduces the costs and head aches associated with boat ownership and puts the fun back into boating.

In our experience boats used regularly, look brighter and have less operational problems.

It is possible to confuse MANAGED OWNERSHIP with TIMESHARE. Rest assured you own ‘title’ to your share in the vessel and use of that boat is restricted solely to the named owners of that syndicate.
Shares in the syndicate may be offered for sale at any time by the individual owner, shares must first be offered to the existing syndicate members. Syndicates normally run for 3 years after which the vessel will normally be offered for sale on the open market. When syndicates come to an end, the sale proceeds are divided between members.

What you can expect from us

  • Supply and commission your new vessel, including a full day demonstration and sea trial for each syndicate member.
  • Oversee and arrange all aspects of marina berthing and insurance
  • Form syndicates between like-minded people
  • Have a member of staff on hand on change over day
  • Arrange with contractors to carry out warranty and none warranty repairs
  • Give advice on all matters of sailing and best use of the boat.

You may withdraw your name at any time up to when the boat order is placed. Upon order a 10% of the share value will be required with the balance due prior to delivery of the boat.
